The First Law of Thermodynamics describes a condition woven into reality itself because energy cannot be created and cannot be destroyed. Every transformation in nature comes from energy changing form and continuing its movement through different expressions across time. The energy participating in consciousness today existed before the body formed and before personal identity emerged through memory, language, and experience. Human awareness begins to appear less like a separate event and more like a temporary opening through which eternal energy observes, learns, and experiences existence from countless perspectives. The universe continuously reorganizes itself through stars, planets, biological life, electromagnetic systems, and conscious beings, while the same underlying energy keeps cycling through new forms without ever disappearing. Looking at consciousness through this lens changes the relationship between life and death because existence starts resembling an infinite process of transformation where awareness repeatedly moves through reality as part of a continuum far older than any individual lifetime.
